Poem: The Awful Truth (Beau Taplin)

The Awful Truth – Beau Taplin

One day, whether you
are 14,
28
or 65

you will stumble upon
someone who will start
a fire in you that cannot die.

However, the saddest,
most awful truth
you will ever come to find––

is they are not always
with whom we spend our lives.

I found this poem while scrolling on the dash of my tumblr, which is quite surprising in itself since I don’t follow any blogs about poems or the like over there. But still, it showed up and my goodness how beautiful it is! I just had to add it here, to remember it later, and to maybe share it with whoever passes by.

Here’s a tumblr account for more awemazing poems by Beau Taplin.
