Poem: Sister

Sister

I’ve felt your presence all along,
but it took a while to find you.
Who’d think it takes a trip abroad
to find someone just like you.
But here I am, and here you are,
we’ll never be too far apart –
you’re a sister I have had forever,
misplaced somehow by universe.

I’ll be there through those famous moods,
whatever you may throw me,
and you’ll suffer through my painful truths,
it’s the only way to know me.
Perhaps we are to each other now,
what others failed to be somehow,
and though I love your best, remember
that sisters hold on, bad or worse.
